Sam I Am- "Sam" is the original HDA lesson horse. "Sam" has retired to the Little River Community School in Canton.
Tall Dark and Handsome- "TDH" is a 15.1 hand dark bay Welsh/Mustang cross gelding. He is one of Emily's favorite horses. Winter Storm- "Stormy" is a very smart Appaloosa gelding. He is very quiet and we have a few students who just love him. Morning Phyre- "MuleGirl" is a 15 hand registered American Quarter horse. Mule Girl has very steady gaits, which makes her enjoyable to ride. (She is our adult riders’ favorite!) Mule Girl is also very good for eventing, because she puts in a very steady dressage test, as well as good x-country and stadium jumping rounds. Pageant- Pageant is an Appendix Quarter Horse mare that will be trained and shown by Emily. She is the prettiest horse on the farm. Coco Mae Reed- "Reed" is a silver bay Quarter horse with very small ears. "Reed" has been retired to the Clement's in West Potsdam. Valley Boy- "Valley" is a chestnut thoroughbred gelding who has very good dressage training. In 2008, she took Valley as her "flat" horse for her Pony Club "B" rating test in Vermont. Valley is currently used by our more experienced students for flatwork. Tanquita- "Tank" is a PMU baby. She is very large, but has nice, smooth gaits. Noah's Spark- "Noah" is an off track thoroughbred, who is hopefully going to have an eventing or dressage career. DreamRunner- "Dreamer" is a super quiet thoroughbred stallion. He will hopefully start showing this summer. Ivy League- "Ivy" is a thoroughbred mare. She has never raced, and her quiet attitude has made her a great addition to our lesson program. Current Reality- "Chunk" is a 16.1 hand Thoroughbred gelding. Originally purchased as a competition horse for Emily, we soon realized that he likes doing lesson! He has a slow and steady, yet slightly bouncy trot. Memorial Star- "Baby" is HDA's heaviest draft horse, weighing over 1800 pounds! She is a Percheron/Belgian cross. Although Baby was not born on our farm, we have had her since she was 11 months old. Tania has trained her to drive, ride english, western, and sidesaddle. She has even competed at the NY State Fair! Many students enjoy taking her to the x-country jumping field and riding her in their first Event at HDA. Rock Of Ages- "Rocky" is a Belgian/Paint cross (half-draft). Originally found in a farmer's field, he soon became Tania's competition horse. She has competed him in eventing and jumpers extensively throughout NY, Canada, VT, and Pennsylvania. Although Rocky can jump 4', he is a gentle giant and is very good for the beginners. He is often seen taking beginner eventers around the cross country course. Kodiak- Kodiak is HDA's tallest horse. He is a 17.3 hand dark bay Belgian/Thoroughbred cross gelding. Tania loves riding Kodiak and in 2010 Kodiak competed in 6 recognized events, moving up from Beginner Novice to the Pre-Training Level. Tania and Kodi also competed at the Syracuse Invitational and National Horse Show Local 3' Equitation class placing 10th! Radcliffe- Radcliffe is a chestnut Thoroughbred gelding trained in Dressage. Oakley- Oakley is a chestnut Thoroughbred gelding with vast competition experience. |
